Healing Isn’t Linear—It’s a Sacred Return

Healing is not a destination

It’s a deep remembering.

A spiraled journey that reveals us to ourselves again and again.

In my own practice, I often remind myself (and my clients) that we don’t heal to "arrive" somewhere perfect. We heal to come into relationship, with our bodies, our stories, and the parts of us we once silenced.

This poem is a reflection of that truth. It’s a companion for anyone in the midst of becoming.

May it offer comfort, resonance, and the reminder that you are not alone on this path.

Healing is not a finish line,
but a dance of layers, a peeling back,
revealing more ... where grief and joy entwine like old friends,
each offering a hand to steady the soul’s journey.

I believe in the wisdom of the body’s whisper,
in breath that untangles what was bound,
in stories rewritten with tenderness,
in the sacred pause before the next step forward.
I believe in the quiet alchemy of showing up,
not to fix, but to feel; not to force, but to flow,
to cradle the parts of us that long to be seen,
and invite them home to wholeness.
I believe in becoming. Not in spite of the ache,
but through it; rising with the weight of experience
and the light of new possibility
as we gather, release, and rise again.
For healing is a journey we don’t walk alone,
but a shared unfolding, one where each of us
becomes both guide and seeker,
both student and teacher,
in the art of coming home to ourselves.

Closing Reflection

Pause for a moment.

Take a deep breath.

Place a hand on your heart.

Imagine yourself standing at the entrance of a labyrinth. You begin to walk its winding path. You aren't going in circles.

You’re going deeper within.

What layer of your healing is asking to be met right now?

The spiral may feel familiar as each step, each turn, brings you closer to the center and the truth of yourself.
